Oh what a beautiful morning…

After the very gray day yesterday, it was a pleasure to wake up this morning and see the sun and the sky.

Yesterday.

Today.  I didn’t realize the contrast til this moment seeing both pics together.

Here’s the pictures that I got today.  I am so thankful to God for the beautiful day today.  The sunshine was blinding.  It was heaven!  I’m in Palermo so don’t know the conditions right now…but oh what a start to this day.

Wayne & Meghan Dickinson are landing right now in Kiev (1:15 p.m.).  Godspeed through customs.  We just stopped and prayed for them that God would hold them in His hands right now.

Okay…now back to pics…  THESE ARE TODAY…  There are some from Yesterday at the very end of this post.

One more rabbit to chase.  We will miss worshipping so much today at our church.  But we will have a home worship time with the Loux’s later tonight.  That’ll be great.

Now the pictures…

 DSCF2555
I am the luckiest (most blessed) man alive.
She is so gorgeous.  Her beauty far outshines the sun. (And the sun was amazing this morning)

DSCF2558
Self photo.  Why the strange expression every time I do a self photo?  Hmmm…

DSCF2560
Our little man.  We got to go out today.  (Actually we were told we were going out today :-) ).  Guess what!?  He headed right for the gate.

DSCF2561
Can you believe how cute he is?

Seth…look at this puppy.  There are 12 of them!!  They are so cute.

Here’s the orphanage complex where Matthew is.

DSCF2569
We came back inside for the last part of our visit.  But they wouldn’t let us go into the actual orphanage and wouldn’t even let us sit on the floor.  We all three had to sit in chairs.   Ummmmmm….

YESTERDAY…all my troubles seemed so far away…  Oh, sorry.  Couldn’t resist.

Do ya think the kid likes bubbles?

DSCF2539_face0
Couldn’t get enough bubbles!

Mary having a quiet time with the Lord.  Well, quiet except the guy chasing her with the camera.

It was laundry day.

 DSCF2502
Here’s our bathroom.  It’s a work in progress.  George saw it the first time and said, “Oh, Las Vegas!”  He thought the tub was something!

 DSCF2503
The kitchen…  You see the cooking utensils we have.  A pot.  Yup.  That’s it.  I bought a skillet too.  That’ll be a present for Jamie in Kiev when we leave.

 DSCF2504
A piggy bank?  On top of a cabinet in the kitchen.

 DSCF2505
The sitting room, aka: guest room, aka: George’s room

 DSCF2506
The living room.  There used to be a couch here, but now it’s in George’s room.  It’s more comfy than the bed that was in there.  It’s small but cozy.

 DSCF2507
The honeymoon suite.  :-)

Mary commented last night when we came in how happy she was that we had a place to come back to that was bright, cheery and homey.  I couldn’t agree more.  Thank you God for the great place to stay and the really cheap price!

 DSCF2510
We can see the town’s WWII memorial from our window.  This picture is for Ken.  He knows that every single town has one.  Here’s ours in Novograd.

 DSCF2511
We can also see the furniture factory from our apartment.  Strange smells come from that place.  Is it okay to breathe that stuff?  Hmmmmm…

 DSCF2518
Beautiful.  Just beautiful.

 DSCF2520
Interesting feature in the bedroom.

 DSCF2523
Electric meter.  Is this safe…

 DSCF2524
This is above the meter.  Okay, I’m sure this is not safe.  Haven’t touched any to see if they’re live. Yet.  :-)

Well gang.  Thanks for praying for us.  Thanks for supporting us.  Thanks for your love.

Mary wanted me to let those of you know who have asked, the boys are all size 4T.  So we’ll have three boys all the same size!  Thanks.

The Lord blessed me with this scripture today:

Psalm 57
9-10 I'm thanking you, God, out loud in the streets,
singing your praises in town and country.
   The deeper your love, the higher it goes;
every cloud is a flag to your faithfulness.

11 Soar high in the skies, O God!
Cover the whole earth with your glory!

What next?

YOU have a weird expression in the pictures? look @ the new boy eye-ballin' that bubble? y'all ain't nervous about that? y'all's "home" looks beautiful !!! nice tub - nice kitchen - got cable or satellite dish? hmm - did I even see a TV? I am not an invited guest to the Dickinson's blog so couldja please relay that to them? your "tone" speaks volumes today !!! I am thrilled to hear your words "soar" its almost over - there are a few minor details to iron out then off to Borispol so we can get on with raising those boys ...

is that a picture of an amusement park? 47 Flags Over Ukraine? wasn't 6 Flags named after the 6 flags that flew over the great state of Texas?
this morning is gonna be especially tough for me - no Malones {adult} & no Dickinson's on me pew {Wayne takes up a third of the pew by his-self} - maybe I'll sit somewhere else?

    Chris & Mary,

Blessings from your Life Group; we really miss you guys. We look forward to your daily journal and some of the “humorous” events that place each day. Actually, I wanted to comment on that bit of architecture above your bed, apparently it looks like something one would see in “classic” Las Vegas—don’t ask how I know, I was stationed at Nellis AFB over 20+ years ago.

What an adventure! I was thinking just the other day how much fun it’s going to be whenever the family reflects on these precious moments you’re capturing today. We paused today in service to lift both of you and the family to the Lord; you’re surely missed and can’t wait for your return. Just know that you’re in our thoughts and we pray your time away from us will be really short.

    Respectfully,

    Bubba
